Posm = osmotic water permeability coefficient

Psalt = salt permeability coefficient

Purea = urea permeability coefficient

ssalt = Staverman reflection coefficient for salt

surea= Staverman reflection coefficient for urea

L = length

D = diameter

Csalt (outside) = concentration of salt in fluid outside of the tubule

Curea (outside) = concentration of urea in fluid outside of the tubule

Km = Michaelis constant for salt

Jmax = Active salt transport maximum

Csalt(0) = salt (NaCl) concentration at x=0

Curea(0) = urea concentration at x=0

Fv(0) = axial volume flow rate at x=0
